Handley Page HP.137 Jetstream Mk1
(and Series 200)

*********************************

This model was built with FSDS version 2.24, primarily for use as an AI model in FS2002 and FS2004's ATC traffic. It's simple, low polygon design plus 2 lower resolution LOD models make it ideal for AI traffic use.

Some History...
Originally designed to fill a need for a military utility aircraft for the RAF and the RNAF, the first version of the Handley Page Jetstream found itself a new home during the early days of the Commuter Airline industry after deregulation. In those early commuter airline days of the 1970's, the 18 passenger Jetstream was a hotrod performer who's only competition was the Swearingen Metroliner 1 and the DeHaviland Twin Otter! However, the French built Astazou 14 and 16 engines proved cantankerous and unreliable in airline service. A project by Handley Page to convert over to the Garrett Airesearch TPE331 engine was plaqued by engineering problems and cost over-runs. Although a few Garrett powered series 3101's were built, the Jetstream project was canceled and HP was forced into bankruptcy, then later absorded by British Aerospace. The Jetstream was reborn under BAe management as the the Garrett powered Jetstream 31.

General Notes:
This is another one of my "community project" models.
This model is currently in development and I'll make more updates to it as I get reports from people who use it.
The textures are basic masters, 256 color (8-bit), 1024x1024 bitmap. Chrome reflections, and lightmap for night lighting are activated. User is welcome to repaint the model in any livery(s) or scheme(s) desired. Uploads of repainted models are also welcome. No prior permission is required.
If you want to modify the high-speed prop texture, don't forget to add the transparent alpha channel when you're finished. If you don't know how to modify prop textures, don't! Leave it as it is.
The lightmap texture (_L) included with this archive is a simple placeholder file. User must build their own lightmap file for end use.
Flight dynamics are based on the default King Air (with some modifications), so it will work well as an AI model (FS2002), but will not operate realistically as a HP137.
If anyone makes any improvements to the flight model which lets the AI model fly more realistically as a HP137, please send me a copy and I'll include it in a future update with credits.

Installation
Unzip the archive directly into your flight simulator's Aircraft folder. It will automatically be setup as a regular, flyable model. To include the model in your ATC traffic, you need to use utilities such as Lee Swordy's "Traffic Tools". This is a freeware utility available at most major flight sim websites.
