Gmax v1.2 Casa C212-200 Ai aircraft

Introduction

The EADS CASA C-212 Aviocar is a turboprop-powered STOL medium transport aircraft designed and built in Spain for civil and military use. C-212s are also produced under licence in Indonesia by Indonesian Aerospace, formerly called IPTN but now known as IAe. The design was initially marketed under the name of Aviocar, but EADS-CASA no longer uses that name in referring to the C-212.

A total of 478 C-212s of all variants had been delivered through the end of 2008 by EADS-CASA. EADS-CASA predicts that an additional 85 aircraft will be delivered in the 2007-2016 time period.^[1] EADS-CASA currently builds only the C-212-400, which received Spanish certification in 1998. The C-212-200 is currently built in Indonesia, and IAe is also preparing to begin assembly of -400 models, probably in 2008.

Ai Model

I have been repainting, putting packages together for Ai the works for my countries airforce, the SAAF. I have recently run into problems that there is some Ai planes what I want to use but there are none avaliable and so I decided to ask people to help me but it was not really what i expected. So I started modelling and working through all the issues and learning all the way and now have my first Ai plane to show for it. The model was built using Gmax v1.2. I have had so much help from Milton Shupe at www.sim-outhouse.com and would just like to thank him. This aircraft was designed purely for AI.

 The model has 9 Levels of Detail models or LOD, with a low as possible poly count, making it framerate friendly for AI flightplans for either Civillian or Military. The model features the following:

• 9 LOD models.
• Shut down effects with pitot and intake covers.
• Flap animation for landing.
• Flap animation for take-off.
• Two speed propeller texture.
• Night illumination of windows etc.
• Blank or white textures included, no paintkit included.
• Two models included, one with red rotation beacon anti-collision light and one with white stroboscopic anti-collision lights.

Installation (Fs2004)

This zip file contains the model files.

A) Extract the files in this zip file to the desktop or any temporary place folder.

B) The copy the whole folder to the C:\…\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft folder

Very Important: Since this is an Ai aircraft, it will not show up in the FS menu as normal flyable planes!!!

Hope you like this plane, since I did it for all the people interested in the SAAF Casa’s during its service life and all the men that served and still serves at 44 Sqn with them.
